Hi, so i was tired of the stock sound (i previously added a 10" sub) of my wife 2005 Echo and i didnt like the fact that she sometime talk on the phone while driving.

Solution:

Eclipse CD5030 (w/bluetooth & ext mic)
HAT L3
2.4mH coils

Dash: L3 125Hz and up (active)
Door: Stock 6.5 63Hz (active) to 400Hz (passive/coil)
Sub: old 10" infinity 63Hz down (active)

So its almost fully active and it sound great, i cannot believe how good the CD5030 sound. The L3 really help the system to shine, even without tweeter there's still plenty of details in the upper range.

For the price, it's the best upgrade I ever done!

L4 wouldn't fit? plays lower, louder and up to 17KHz

they would but would have needed more work, the L3 fitted perfectly under the factory grill. Well she doesn't know about the L3... that was for me

 

I also own the 5030, it is a spectacular deck. It is extremely easy to use and sounds superb.
