well i still think better planning by event organizers would be very helpfull and good advertising is critical... we have all winter to plan and organize shows and by march everyone should have a good idea if they are going to host a show and when... as far as builds go. again season ends in sept. so you have to plan your cars to be perfect for may. i can understand gear blowing up half way through the season, but other than that the vehicles should be ready and running by may to early june...
there are 4 shows left that i will be attending that i know of aug7,aug8, aug15 ,aug 22 now i have budgeted and got the ok from my better half and made arrangements for my kids to have something to due while iam gone and my car is getting a complete tune up today to make sure no "stupid" mechanical problems happen... so i can now tell the event hosts that i will be attending there shows with confidence...

as far as competitors go word of mouth should work well since most competitors know each other and the shows around , its just really hard to find ppl who are willing to drive a few hrs to go to shows we have maybee 10 or so competitors willing to drive to a show we need more diehards

in business we budget for advertising.. so use some of the ad. budget for promoting the show... lets see, iasca $125.00 posts on cca free, post on diyma free, post on elite car, free, post on facebook, free, lets see what eles....meter. well if you have a car audio install bay you should have one anyway.. so free!.. tents.. rent them if you dont have one$ 80 bucks for two tents for one day 15x12. trophies.. well thats up to you, tim used to make his own for practically nothing.. took a piece of 5/8 mdf 12 inches by 7 inches routered the edges, painted them marble and stuck a blank disc on the front with the class and iasca logo printed on it from his computer... cost 4 bucks each... thats the cheap way or do like Dave oakley and dump 4gs into trophies... each to there own. then hit the reps up for swagg, and call it a show.. but advertise it long in advance... i knew of Daves show a yr ago and my car is being built and finished strictly for this one event... shows can be cheap or expensive.. can make you money or loose you money. it all boils down to this.."you will only get out what you put in"

My box will be done today so I will be hitting up some shows but really, **** poor advertising made me miss the show that was a FIVE min drive from my house.
I found out on Sat about the show on Sun and already had plans but I now know of more events coming up so, it's a start in the right direction.
