Since its getting cold out ive been trying to lay off my subs. Will the cold make them crack or blow if i play them ? it usually gets to -20 should i be using them at this time????

With any decent subs it shouldnt be a big problem but if your worried what I wuld do is keep the volume down untill the car/sub heat up a bit
I have heard of cold beiig bad for subs, but personallyt Ive run all of mine 4 or 5 different set ups all winter long with no problems

 

thanks it can get pretty cold around here and i dont drive my car much because i dont have a liscence yet. Would it be a problem leaving them in the cold for a long time without heating them up?

 

if you let them heat up with the car on befor you get it full power

what i see not beind good is fast hot to cold or cold to hot

 

I don't know about your car, but mine isn't playing tunes when the car is trying to start... I can't see that being any issue whatsoever.. That circuit doesn't get any power while the car is trying to start.

I have seen some of the lower end subs that are a poly type cone become brittle and crack to the point they are no good afterwards.

 

avoid cranking up the heat when your windshield is very cold as it could crack

stereo wise, I like to keep the volume low when first starting to listen to the music, not turned right up from the get go
