winter time
just wondering if people warm up their amps, or do you need to? I remember back when I had paper cone speakers and they did not do well when it was really cold... don't have a big $ investment in the speakers etc. but when you have other priorities in life (family), I just would like to keep them as long as possible
any opinions welcomed

Depends on how cold it is. If it's -30, I usually don't have music on my mind until at least I'm warm...then maybe I'll turn on the system and play it at normal levels...I'm hardly in the mood to crank my stereo in that kind of weather. If it's a normal winter day, then I treat the system like any other day..get in start car, start driving and turn on system, let it play at normal levels until I feel like turning it up. I guess it depends on your listening style. Basically, I don't treat the system any different summer or winter.

i play at very low levels just to get everything working a little and once i hear they are warm i bring up the volume a bit. and so on.. usually takes me 30mins to get max volume that i want.. i have a wagon style car
if u have a trunk car with subs thats another story. there is no heat in there and the subs will take a while to warm up. drop the seat or take em out

i put a small crack in the side of my sub last winter not letting it warm up enough in -30'ish, doesn't affect the sound but it made me much more careful about letting things warm up before turning up to decent levels.
