I have a 4 channel amp that I can bridge into 2 channels right now but I want to run a single SVC sub on both channels to get the most power from the amp. Is it possible to do this so long as the gains are matched and inputs are from the same source?

 

It is possible.. but not practical... especially with a single 4channel amp...

I have one 4 ohm svc sub, but that shouldn't make any difference whether or not it's possible to wire up. I figure it'd be the same as wiring 2 amps to a single sub, like in SPL comps.

Your 4 channel amp can be bridged to 2 channels....you will have problems if you run the one sub of one of the channels.

You will have far worse problems if you try to 'parallel' the 2 channels and run them both of one svc sub.

Try to find another 4 ohm svc sub or a new amp.

I don't know if it'd be bridging it a second time or not if I ran seperate wires from both bridged sides to the sub (4 wires total).

If you run all 4 wires to your one sub you will blow your amp.

You need a new amp or a second sub.

 

Yes, SPL people do this. But those amps are strappable with phase switches. But I have never seen a 4 channel amp which is strappable, and I have never seen a phase switch on a 4 channel amp either. You WILL blow the amp (or at least put it into protection mode) if you try this.

3 options:
(1) Get a different amp
(2) Get one more sub.
(3) Get a DVC sub.
