Hey guys, new here and pretty new to car audio aswell.

I just aquired a free amp from a friend. A rockford power series 351M monoblock.

Ive been reading on the net about it and someone said that this amp is grossly underrated and can produce almost double whats its rated when wired "properly"


Isint there only one way to wire it correctly?..power , ground, remote etc?

He made it sound as if something special was done when wiring it?

What would he mean by this?

Dont know about double the power but u can see ur manual if u click the link

 

As Wiring Properly, they probly mean Using the right size gauge wires.
Also make sure your Amp accepts the polarity your subwoofers are wired at.

 

Nice friend.....has he got any more amps he doesn't want?....

Power series amps were rated very conservatively.....birthsheets that came with the amps would typically show between 30% and 50% more RMS power than the specs. Just run it at a 2 ohm mono load and you should be impressed with the output.

If you are going to try running it at less than 2ohms make sure your electricals are in good shape and there is lots of airflow around the amp......
