Wiring Kit help
Hey there guys, i finally decided on getting an amp/sub. i decided on getting the RE audio sxx12d2 (1000rms) for the subwoofer, and for the amp RE audio VLX-1DE (1000watts@1ohm). i will decide on getting my enclosure custom made from a local car audio store, does anyone know how much will it cost to make one? and at last i wanted to know what kind of wiring kit should i get? i know theres 8 gauge, 4 gauge, 1/0 gauge but im sure about the difference between them =/ what would be the best for this system and why?

Get a 0 guage kit. Or when you go to the shop to get the box done have them install the wire for you. The higher the demand of the amplifier the more current is needed, and thicker wire carries more current. The shop you're going to may be able to explain it more, but for 1000 watts 4 guage is not bad, but 1/0 is better. What shop are you going to?

well, this is my first system so im really not sure about any shops 
but one of the guys here suggested to talk to davis from selective sounds for a custom box :O if you any better shops (do it for good $ ) it would be great help!

jumping into 0 G may not be suited for you. its more expensive and your amp may only take 4G to begin with. if the RE amp is 4g in and you dont plan on running anymore amps. i would just run the 4 guage. or u will need an adapter to bring the size down for your amp. or you would need to use some kind of distribution block.

all amps are limited to a max size of wire. most amps around the 1k mark are 4g, 2500watt rms rms usualy start taking 1/0 g. if you plan on using another amp in the future for say mids and highs. get 0g wire and get a distributor block.
