Woofers Etc, decent place to order stuff from?

I've never ordered from them, but Sonic Electronics has some real good prices, as do a couple of the big Ebay sellers. As stated above though, don'tbother unless they ship by USPS.
Big heavy things like subwoofers and boxes are sometimes just as cheap locally, but HU's and speakers are always way cheaper online.
The warranty issue is something to consider but not a deal breaker. IMO most places wont honor their warranties anyways. Its commendable that MR2NR stands behind his products but unfortunetly most don't.
I prefer buying local but not if it means getting raped on the price. For example, I can buy a set of Alpine Type X components for about $230 total with shipping at Sonic . Same thing locally would cost me $600 or more locally.

Yeah, my brother ordered a few things off sonic cause the prices are just silly compared to in town but he got raped over the coals on duties, wish i had of known about the USPS cause he shipped it UPS.
Theirs only one local (shady) car audio shop in the whole province, Only sells alpine and few Polk things. I got a Type-R 10inch sub off CrutchfieldCanada for 80 bucks less, shipped and still payed the 13% tax lol. Then I had to order a wiring kit off eBay cause he don't stock wire or kits.... retarded.
and I refuse to buy stuff off future shop, not like they got anything i want anyway.
thanks for letting me vent tho and thanks for the advice.

USPS is the way to go, and they do charge duties, it depends how you describe the product. If marked "gift" or "repaired" usually no duties at all. Ordered from Woofersetc and Sonic Electronix before. No complaints. Ebay has been great to me too. The only problem I had was with refurbed Kicker amps, cause half of them didnt last long.

Sonic Electronix lets add text to the shipper. So request shipping USPS and put "happy birthday" in the text box on the shipper. No taxes or duties.
UPS/FedEX/Purolator throw a dart at a board to decide what they want to charge you.
I buy local for head units but that's about it. retail prices north of the 49th are retarded.

Before you guys run off to the US with your $, why not let a little shop like mine that always needs and appreciates business try and earn yours? I am fair, I am honest, I am ethical and I have access to boatloads of equipment for you.

Mmmm yummy DLS amps - they have good prices on some of those RA's, and they sound exceptional!

USPS does not charge the customs clearing (brokerage) fee that UPS does (up to $50) but will charge the taxes (because the gov't says to) unless you mark "gift". I find paying USPS half of what I would pay UPS.
With that said...I urge everyone to use UPS....I own stock!
