Woot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I pretty much finally bought a new vehicle. I am going from a rear wheel drive automatic suv with a v8 to a front wheel drive manual car with a 4 cylinder, hahahaha. I bought an aveo. I wanted a hatchback for sure, and I wanted something that gets insane gas mileage, and something with low miles (it only has 20k). Although I will miss my offroading action and all of my rearwheeldrive-fun I am pretty psyched. All of my equipment is going to be BEAUTIFUL inside it. I have so much new equipment that I have been waiting to put in my blazer and now it is all goin in the new car and I AM SO READY! I just hope I can figure out a way to fit my snowboard inside, haha.

after you actually start driving the new car you will miss the v8/rear drive. The gas milage will help to ease the pain.
Youre knees hitting the dash will make you think about what you gave up as well. Trying to get it on in the back seat with youre women will also make you regret youre trade in,keep thinking gas milage lol.
I too started out rear wheel drive, went from a 86 cutty to a 81 camaro(454) to a mustang gt then a mustang 4 banger lol that was a shock in its own right.Sticking with rear wheel drive i bought an astrovan, then my first front runner was a 93 olds 88 lss was a super nice car but it gave me the front wheel drive blues lol,i.e no more doughnuts, drifting etc....
Now i drive a sunfire gt ,ya the gas mileage is good, well actually its great compared to the 3.4 lt z34 i just got rid of.
Anyways i broke myself into a front wheel drive gutless wonder , you are surely gonna go into withdrawls lol,do you atleast have access to a real car to borrow now and then, freind, parents, etc?
On a side note the sunfires e-brake is in a good spot for fishtailing lol, with some practice it can be even more fun then a rear drive in the snow, lol

i managed to get one nice one off in the 5 month's i had the car... the others were just junk.
it was a decently fast car thought..
have fun with the aveo...
i would think it would be harder to get a board into a smart car...
just saying...

I do indeed have access to some rear wheel drive vehicles so they should ease my pain. I was thinkin that a snowboard rack might be a good investment and then I remembered that it might get in the way of the moon roof. The space inside is not a problem, I am amazed at how much room is inside that little car. But like you said, I will be thinking about the great gas mileage very often or I will go insane. One great note, the locks work unlike in my blazer so I feel better about parkin in dark ally's.

Wouldn't your snowboard be about the right size for a spoiler on the Aveo?
I went from a 4 cyl cavalier up to a V8 MonteCarloSS. When ever i get down about the gas mileage, I just put my foot to the floor and remember why i love the V8.
I'd check out the alternator size on that thing before you go insane with installing gear.
