Sorry, dont mean to hijack the thread, but im curious about what dukk said about vents over 2 feet long are bad. Just wondering if that rule applies to the more powerful speakers as well? (An L7 in a big ported box for example)

^ That should work fine but consider a 4"diameter port.
If your vents wind up over 2 feet long then the box probably has the condition of being too small or tuned too low or too much port area. People will go on and on about 'pipe resonances' and blah blah blah but usually if you see a mega long vent in a design there's a problem - not always, but usually.
