Sorry, dont mean to hijack the thread, but im curious about what dukk said about vents over 2 feet long are bad. Just wondering if that rule applies to the more powerful speakers as well? (An L7 in a big ported box for example)

I don't mind the thread being hijacked at all.
I just want to build a box...might have to pay someone for blueprints though.

this is a very helpful link,as for the port length calculation, swap the hight and length and use the longer port of the two.this one works good!!!

Relax dude. just reread what dukk said. Try making your port 2" x 6" and you'll get a more reasonable length.

The bigger the port area (2" x 6" = 12 square inches, that's the port area) the longer the port has to be.

ok so 27"x14"x12" vent 2"x6" 11" deep sound about right?......or round 3.25x 8.66 deep if I went with just a round port.....this will be my last post...promise
