WOW!!! . . . Just installed Pioneer's new 7500DVD

This thing is beautiful. I just finished installing it in my friends new BMW and I must say that this is probably the best screen on the market today. We were originally going to go with the Alpine or possibly an Eclipse but we would have made a huge mistake. The colours and clarity on the new screens are way better than last years, 5.1 surround sound, built-in TV tuner, advanced colour OEL, and my favourite, touch-screen! I can't say more about Pioneer's new unit. Although, it blows out the pocketbooks we got it for a smokin' deal and would recommend this unit to anyone over all other competitors. The only thing now to test is the sound quality when hooked up through his amps [only using OEM equipment for now]. That may be a different story.

The Pioneer site is down right now, But I was sure the IVAD900 was the ONLY screen using a larger than 400K pixel screen? Alpine is almost 1.2M
I've seen all of the screens in store and NOT one compared to the D900... And since I've had mine for about a week..Nothing comes close IMO..

The Pioneer came out just recently after everyone was raving about the Alpine.
Do you have any pictures of the unit? and does it have a small display when its closed on the top of the LCD display ? Similar to the Clarion.
How is the TV tuner on the unit aswell. What are the outstanding features on this unit as Pioneers website is limited on info on this unit ?

I personally think that the Pioneer unit is better than the Alpine for a few reasons. First being that the Pioneer is a face-off unit and the ALpine isn't. Granted that Pioneer still only uses the bottom control panel as the face-off, it still "feels" secure. Second the Pioneer already has a built-in TV tuner unlike the Alpine. OK, so teh reception isn't that great while you're driving cause' you only get a few stations but when you're stopped it's almost like cable just without another 100 channels. Thirdly, the Alpine seems to read more file types such as VCD's and MPEG's for all those who like to watch music videos. Another point is that the Pioneer does have an external LCD located on top of the screen that when folded down shows the time and track number. It's a bonus when you're screen isn't up cause' you just want to listen to music. Lastly, the Pioneer is touchscreen! I wasn't much of a novelty kind of guy but damn touchscreen is really cool and fum to use. It's sort of like you're Hasselhoff driving Kit. Now, I know that the Alpine does have a "better" picture quality on paper but the Pioneer's resolution is nothing short of amazing. For the price and the features, which outweigh the Alpine, I still think that the Pioneer in-dash 7500DVD is the best unit for this year.
To answer all of the other questions about pics I'll have to get back to you. I'll be seeing my friend this week so I'll try my best to post up some pics.
I hope that this answered all of your probing, curious questions.
Thanks

Alpine plays the face off game the same way.. Just the bottom controls.
The real only feature I'd like from the Pioneer is the lcd display when the screen is down. Other than that Touch screen still scares me.. I just don't think I should have to poke and prod my $3K deck
But in all end, they are two different units, I hope you enjoy it
