X991 Downloads

Hey quick question for people with the Kenwood X991 H/U..

Has anyone tried to put custom images on the unit ?

damn i wish i could afford that one, so nice, just wish it had more than 512 meg internal flash memory. Im stuck with the lowly x891 :P

I was wondering if anyone had any samples or something new to play on the h/u.. getting bored of the monster trucks and dolphins.. Is it possible to get other clips ? or just pictures ?

you can go here and download a program.
Kenwood Corporation CAR AUDIO DISPLAY-FILES DOWNLOAD SITE

from there you can crop whatever pictures you want, and maybe some videos (not sure if they will work on the 991). Then burn the files you created to a CD and insert it into your deck. Go to standby mode and get into the menu. from there you should be able to select something along the lines of "data download". this will take a LONG freakin time. like 15-20 minutes. After it's completed you can turn the unit back on and go into your display options. if you go to the slideshow part you can let it either scan through all of the photos (including the kenwood ones which you cant get rid of) or you can turn the scan funtion off, i believe by pressing the play button. Then you're good to go.
