Well my sister is going to buy satelite radio for her husband for christmas, and she doesnt know what to get. She lives in northern British Columbia. It will be going into a 2001 Chrysler 300M. She has stock cd player w/ cd changer. What will she need to get him to completely set him up? Any help would be great, as i don't know much about satelite radio.

Also, will the speakers still work with a different h/u? He told me a while back that if he changed the h/u he would have to change all the speakers (infinity system). Anyways any help is awsome guys! Thank you

If she wants to keep the factory crapola in the dash, either system will work with a fm mod unit. They usually come this way as a box that screws onto the dash or suction cups onto the window. Factory system is left intact.

Second was is to replace the factory crapola with a Eclipse system + the Eclipse sirius radio tuner. No contraption on the dash or window.

Find out which way she wants to go. The cheaper route is the box on the dash or window.

Sirius will probably be the better choice because of better coverage in that area. Sirus 1 ($79.00) will be FM mod only while the Starmate ($99.00) will be either FM mod or audio out. These plug and play models will be the less expensive way to go before Christmas.

If you are looking for just an addition I would suggest a stand alone unit that way you can take it and use it in your house or office or shop or on the go. You pay per subscription so might as well get the most out of it! Now you just have to decide which way you want to go... Sirus or XM... channels you'd like to hear and then there is the subscription fee. I would say go to any of the major stores tomorrow and see which one you like the most and decide from there.

I have had Sirius for a couple of years, and I could not imagine going without it at this point.
