Mine consisted of my 80 camaro, two pioneer 6x9s, an audiovox 80 watt amp, a pioneer tape deck (twin shaft), a kenwood cd player with cassette adapter and oh who can forget the classic pioneer tune up tweeters on the dash, man was i cool at sixteen after installing it in the gas station parking lot!

Mine was a '77 Chevy Nova whose stock radio didn't work. So I got myself a hand-sized portable AM/FM Sunoco radio from the local Sunoco gas station and placed it on the passenger seat. That was it!!!! No $$$$ at the time to get anything better.

My first memorable system was in the eighties, I had a 73 Plymouth Satellite with 2 6x9's in the rear deck, some of those Pioneer "tune-up" speakers on the dash, and a cool lookin' Jenson tape deck. It actually sounded pretty darn good.
Can't remember what was in my first car for a stereo... a '72 Toyota Celica ST, oxidized red w/ white racing stripe, red & white diamond-cut crushed velvet interior, on the doors, dash, headliner, console, etc. (haven't seen THAT yet on MTV's "Pimp Your Ride"!), 5 spd. But it was a tape deck of some sort.

1988 Ford F150
Pioneer KEH-P7200 (tape)
Toshiba TP-873 (85x4)
Kaption PRO-SET6 (6.5" comp set)
Kenwood KFC-W2500 x2 (10" subs)
Yes Toshiba made car amps. I think it was rated for 55x4rms at 1%THD. It only lasted in the truck for about 4 months before it got swapped out for some Phoenix Gold M-series amps and the subs were soon replaced not too long after with some Kaption PRO 10's.
Not completely horrible for a first system I guess.
