zapco studio 500
zapco studio 500
I have a studio 500 running my boston pro 6.43 pseakers.I have it running 250rms at 4ohm.Would it benfit me to byamp the crossover and get a 2ohm load? That will double the power but I can't use 1/4 of the power I have now.Another question I have is on subs.I have a 10in. fusion powerplant,I'm thinking about going to a dd audio 2512,Would this be a big step up?I'm also looking at Image dynamics.
I can byamp the 6.5in woofers through the 3way crossover.I just assumed that if I byamped tha crossover to feed the midbass,it would be a 2ohm load? The amp is about the best I have listened to.I'm blown away by the speakers and the amp.

common misconception, the impedance will only lower when you run multiple speakers through the same bandwidth, eg 2 6.5" midbass' in parallel through a bandwidth of 100-500, through that bandwidth the impedance will be 2 ohms, assuming 4 ohm speakers
