My problem with dropping to 1 ohms is that right now I have upgraded my car to the big 3, new XS Power D3400 battery, and a new high output alternator. But with all these improvements my headlights are still flashing, I have another amp thats a 2 channel amp and it pushes 300 watts at 4 ohms and 600 watts at 2 ohms per channel. I am thinking about putting this in my car and taking out the 1700 mono, both are Hifonics amps. So if I can get either subwoofer with a single 4 ohm/2ohm that needs 300 watts or 600 watts to perform or even a dual 4 ohm subwoofer that needs 600 to perform at optimal performance. Right now I have 2 RE Audio 12D4's in a .75 cu ft per chamber sealed enclosure and they pound, but my headlights at night drive me crazy. That's why I want to downgrade to only 2 ohms or 2 subwoofers on my 2 channel amp at 4 ohms each. Hopefully it will solve my headlight problem. Also I have already tried a capacitor and THOSE THINGS BLOW. My amp wasnt getting enough power from the capacitor and it was hooked up to the D3400 battery, easily should have enough power to keep my amp going. But it kept shutting off, took out the capacitor, now everything works fine.

After researching for the past hour and half or so, I have come to the conclusion on getting 2 SSA DCON 10's and putting them into my ported enclosure. I might switch to the sealed enclosure but I want to see how it sounds first. Thanks for all of the help Sonic and Gramser57!

Good choice on the dcons! I had a pair on a aq1200d on 2ohms and to this date it was my favourite sub i have owned. Not sure if you are close to the usa border but i would ship it to a usa post office and pick it up from their. You can potentially save on duties and taxes.
Also try to find a local builder that can build you a proper box that will maximize the performance of the subs.
