2 subs better than 1???
2 subs better than 1???
i already have an audiobahn AWIS12P sub in a ported box and it is connected to an A2300HCT amp. right now it is bridged and getting 1200W RMS to it. if i add a second sub (another AWIS12P), the subs would be getting 600W RMS each. Is that better than having 1 sub at 1200 watts, or 2 subs at 600 RMS? i just want loudness
and i am aware that audiobahn isn't really the best for sound quality out there, i got a really good price and the second sub im getting is free...so hey

Are these the quad 2ohm coil woofers? Like these?
Audiobahn AWIS12P 12" Component Subwoofers Car Subwoofers Car Audio and Video - Sonic Electronix
And is this the amp?
Audiobahn A2300HCT Amp: 2-Channel
If these are indeed what you are asking about you would be able to run it at 1ohm therefore both subs will still get 1200 watts as that amp says it will do 2400@ 1ohm.
The key ? now will be do you have enough room for the box for 2 of these. What are you putting these in? It says they need 1.45 - 3.4cu' each in a ported box. How they are going to sound will be determined by the box they are in more than what subs are in it. Trust me I know from personal experience here. I had 2 sets of subs, cheap flea market crap and nice Kenwoods. In a crappy box no difference between them at all, but put the Kenwoods in the right box and there is no comparison. I always say free stuff is better than stuff you have to pay for IMO. Times are tough and you gotta do what you can with what you got, or can get for next to nothing. There is a thread with a guy doing an entire system with $150, so you don't have to spend alot. Any other ??? just ask.
