2005 world finals ideas (dbdrag)

well.... i posted this on termpro, but i want to see what everyone thinks of these ideas? so here it goes.........
well here's a good idea that i came up with last night, while drinking at a formal university dinner and social!
I think the 1 thing we were missing at World Finals this year was just this. A formal dinner get together and social would be a GREAT way to get to know each other better, met people, and put names to faces.
i have thought about having it on the same night that everyone gets there, after the have rolled there cars into the building and after pre-judging. the problem with this would be, not everyone does come on that day to roll their vehciles in, and the late comers who come the next day would miss out on the dinner social!, and also if it was anything like this year, then the dinner & social wouldn't start until 10-11PM, because the judging sometimes takes quite a long time! i figure that's to late....
soo.. how about we have a formal dinner and social AFTER all the dbdrag elimination rounds have been done! AND during this dinner and social why not also include the all the presentations and trophies to be handed out at this time?? I think having formal presentaions, and a dinner would bring a GREAT positive benefit to Dbdrag Racing.
I belive it would make the "SPORT" of Dbdrag Racing look alot more Professional, and it will make all of the organizers, sponsers, competitors, participants, and spectators take this sport just as serious as you would take any other professional sport.
When you look at the NHL, NBA, NFL, you see they are all "professional" players, and they are taken very serious. and so should we as DbDrag Racing participants! We owe it to ourselfs for all the blood, sweat, tears, and money put into this sport. although None of us as competitors make millions in yearly salaries, we still repsresent a Large growing sport!, and a Sport i hope will continue to grow and grow!
Here is some food for thought, as i think this would make a HUGE impact on the world of DbDrag Racing. Lets here your comments and thoughts?

that's a good idea curtis, something formal would be kinda nice where it wasn't all just "crazy partying" and druken haze celebration.
i think they need to add a little professionalism to the sport - make it seem a little more "high class".
i actually sent an email to wayne about some of my suggestions for next year...a whole bunch of stuff from a first timers/spectators point of view. he still hasn't sent a reply or even acknolweged that he read the email. whatever. kinda enrages me, but i'm sure wayne's got more important things to do than take some advice from someone who can relate to the general population...i just had a few ideas on how to get everyone a little more involved and offer a little more incentive for the new competitors to bring them back...

It SOUNDS like a good idea, but didn't work so well for IASCA finals.
A bunch of competitors were just trying to get their stuff packed up so they can be ready to leave the next morning.
Otherwise a lot of people had already left because they had a long drive home and didn't want to stick around and waste more time.
