3 boxes or 1?
Hello everyone,
I've been wondering... I currently run 3 ported boxes. They are all identically cut using a CNC program complete with rabbit joints, so I'm fairly certain the 3 enclosures are identical. Then just screwed together.
I've been playing with some new designs in both BB6P and WinISD. More so comparing the differences between running one box @ 6ft^3 with 90in^2 of port vs 3 boxes @ 2ft^3 with 30in^2 of port.
Does anyone have experience with running multiple subs in a single enclosure vs multiple enclosures? Would one design be louder than the other? They still total the same....
WinISD and BB6P seem to show that the cone excursion decreases with the single box and vent velocity changes alot. I need as much excursion as possible to keep the drivers cool.
Thanks in advance,
Paul

I was hoping you were going to chime in .....
I know the only way to really tell for sure is to get my hands on a TL .... and that I should try them both anyways but have you ever experimented with this? Be it two or three subs in individual enclosures? How do the subs respond to the difference? I know that one port is easier to tune than 3 and all that... just need to know if building three separate enclosures are really worth it?
What are your experiences with such?

Thanks, at least I'm on the right track.
