Hey guys...
Long "rookie" post here...

My first SPL/dbDrag comp is coming up Saturday and I'm completely clueless!

BACKGROUND:
My system is listed in my sig. I also just got a DEQ-230.
The MAX is a 1.75 cuft box tuned to 30hz, I dont think it would be considered a wall as it doesn't take up the entire amount of space between my rear seats.
I've got about 8 or 9 sq feet of deadning materials that I'm going to be putting on my trunk lid (the walls/well) have been done already, so that takes care of that.

QUESTIONS:
*What class would I be put in?
*How is the easiest way to tune this bad boy? I know I could just crank the gains and stuff but that makes it sound like AZZ and I dont want to accidently ruin anything.
*Should I take out the AC 4.1 as it has a 40hz cutoff, and the box is tuned lower?
*What is my best bet for cd wise? Should I just pop in my bassmechanik cd and hope for the best, or go with the recorded LilJon/YingYangTwins stuff?

As far as I know, I'm the only one with a MAX in the area, so I want to show it off and preform well. Yes I know its an SQ sub, but I really haven't finished my front stage so I can't be doing well there (not to mention, theres nothing in my area)...

Oh, anybody whose intrested, the comp is down in Windsor on the waterfront. AutoXtacy is the name. I guess its a 1x point thing too. http://www.autoxtacy2k4.com/

Any advice for this newb is greatly appreciated! thanks guys!

Joe

huh? how many rows of rear seats are there in a neon?

if your stereo is in your trunk u are in Street A class.

they will provide u with a cd to use if u dont have your own so use theirs. play tracks 40 and up, go up a track every 2 seconds to see what note your car peaks at.

Awesome...

I wasn't sure if a sub box covering the distance rear strut bar to rear strut bar (essentially across the two rear seats) would be considered a wall as it would take up the whole 60/40 fold down seat area.
Thanks!
(any body else have .02 for me?)

change your blinker fluid and check your water-cooled muffler bearing. If they are in good shape, then your set. hehe.
but for real. make sure you are getting as much voltage as you possibly can. throw another battery back there if you got it. VOLTAGE VOLTAGE VOLTAGE. And make sure its not droppin either. Check all you grounds and make sure any wire that would be supplying any power to anything in your vehicle is in tip-top shape. I like the saying the bigger the better. hehe

And make sure to eat a good breakfast that morning. they say its the most important meal of the day.
And have fun slamming the max. I know i do.

But putting another battery would bump him to SS would it not?

And keep the enclosure in the trunk or the will bump you up as well.
