I tested those earlier this year.. Quite impressive - your un-protected power numbers sound reasonable.
The amps are strappable - there is no modification needed.
You need to be testing efficiency though - since most system these days are limited by their current delivery capabilities, output power is less relevant...

I'm one of the few dealers in Western Canada for Lightning and I have been quite impressed with their line in general, especially the Strike and Storm series. The Bolt amps have been great but the subs need a little work.

thanx Dave Mac...have you ever tested a single amp for current draw? I know I tried a strapped pair @ 1.8 ohms and I didnt notice much difference between running one of them at 0.45 ohms since the impedance rise was quite high... also...was your test 2 ohm resistive or reactive
