This is what it says for specs on the crown. Tell me why it makes less power @ 1ohm, then 4ohm. And is there any more power to be had loading it below 1ohm?

8110 Watts RMS x 1 channel at 4 ohms,
14.4V supply and ≤ 1%THD+N

7400 Watts RMS x 1 channel at 1 ohm,
14.4V supply and ≤ 1%THD+N

But yeah I now too believe the crown will crush the soundstream.

Well if it makes less power as you drop the ohms , I think the soundstream would be close. And every year they are making the ss bigger. Also there is a price difference.

It seems that there is a huge efficiency drop of 9% between 4ohm - 2ohm. So @ 1ohm and below the efficiency must drop dramaticlly, to account for that much power loss. But at over 8000 watts @ 14.4v, 4ohm and 85% efficiency what more do you need? LOL

I highly doubt that the Soundstream amp is built in house. Seeing as the Lanzar 4000d has the same internals. Oh and from what i know there will be at least 2 other companies that will have the same internals by years end.

I tested the amp with one battery (street test)at around 13-14v wired to around 0.35 ohms never did the protection come on, powered my subs great. Over all i believe this is a great amp that is built in the USA dont know after the take over though. As for the crown it is huge and im sure it has more power if fed correctly, if anyone wants to drop one off to me i would be willing to test out that 120+lbs monster

well if iam not mistaken isent zed audio building these and the lanzar amps, as well as a plethera of other amps? also any amp that pounds out over 5000watts with only 14.4 volts going to it, that is a testiment to quality enginnering, remember 5 yrs ago. nothing was even close to these numbers!!! thanks to jbl/crown, for raising the bar for all other amps to try and catch. man this is fun again just like the late 80 early 90 when car audio was fun, exciting, with tons of new stuff comming out all the time.
