Baffle between speakers

I've seen a couple people mention putting a small baffle between 2 speakers to separate them from canceling each other out. I'm just wondering if this is a good practice or not on a spl only box

Testing would be tough because it would change the volume of the box, and I'm not sure if I should add it to my box as I'm tunning it.

Here's a crappy pic to give you a idea of what I'm talking about.

Pointless to me i would suggest putting a brace in between the subs, but if they are both running of the same amp it is pointless, if they are on seperate amps both should be seperately enclosed.
