Bassrace rules ?

Nope, none of that nonsense... You go and qualify for say 129.9 class in qualification if you go over simply turn radio down a little till you are under 129.9 and note that volume control level.
Then you just have to get as close to 129.9 without going over during the 30second run. It's quite fun. If you go to the Barrie comp stop by and introduce yourself. I'm going to have my meter with me.
Tips that help:
1) SOLID voltage (you are allowed to run your vehicle to 2000 RPM max. I'd suggest something to hold as close to that limit as possible.
2) Try to gain as quickly as possible, you can always turn it down when your into the 129's. I like to use a nice solid bass beat as soon as I unpause. Gets that score up right away and sometimes makes your opponent bust over trying to catch up, lol. It's ALL in the start.
3) Don't push your luck. The score tends to rise on you if you sit at say 129.9 for too long, so I will usually click one down if I sit @ 139.9 for too long. Say 3 seconds. Sometime you lose, sometime you win. It really is tricky that way... the best is if you can get to 129.7-8 with a couple seconds you turn it up a lil and it will almost always hit 129.9.
4) Turn your amp gains down as much as possible. This helps you to have less gain per volume click, which means more control over your score.
There you have it peeps, the secret behind TDS success in BR. Hope fresh1 gets to see this thread. He might want to take some notes too, lol. See ya in the lanes...

Yep. Bro and I are coming to Barrie. Thanks for the crash course, I'll see you there DS.
Doing bass race for sure, if I manage to get the new battery before then, we'll do dbdrag too, but without it, we'll be stuck in SS the way the van sits now we'll see.
Yuli- Sure, onions? If the hotdog is hanging from a rope, and some big hairy guy says "jump on the back of the bike" I'm outa there

Paul your soft. But for real you might also want to try making your own music. I found out that the song I usually use is "illegal" for some reason, so I hit the rule book and when I saw you can use your own song, so I looped a ton of songs that sound good for BR, but I have no idea if they're gonna work. Other than that Paul gave you some good info, especially with the getting a good start. There is nothing worse than playing catch up, because then you have to turn it up louder and risk a larger jump than anticipated, especially when you're close to the .9
