ya he would run it at 2 0hm. it not great power for em, but it should be sufficient.

as for the exile being 1 ohm stable..I ran a pair of exiles strapped at 1 ohm, and daily run my exile at .5ohm. No problems what so ever, i have owned 6 exiles, and everyone was stable at .5ohms. I have strapped and ran at .5ohms, however it instantly shuts the amps down, so ya, if your running a single exile, .5ohms is fine, and strapped 1 ohm. IMO. I'm sure Pat would argue with me, but real world experience speaks for itself.

can i run the 3512s dual 2s at .5 ohm and if so how much more rms would i get outa it . what would be the wiring configuration for .5 ohm? im thinkn of buying another 2400 and strapping them , but im waiting for my soundstream 3500 to get back from repairs to see if its enough.

TD_Pėnut 10-07-2008 11:29 AM

to get 0.5 ohms, requires a pair of dual 2 ohm woofers. It'll give you the options of 0.5ohms, or 2 ohms. i'm not sure the actual gain in power, but in theory dropping the resistance in half doubles power, but in reality its more like..a 10%-15% gain in my experience. Don't push your gear to the extreme, pat is a pro, get loud without pushing your amps limits, than if you need to..you always have that lil extra.

a little secret with your exile there, do not under estimate this amp at all. I have seen exiles run on as high as 21 volts, these amps are incredibly strong. You will be fine at 0.5ohms, dial the gains, crank the voltage ...it'll take it all.

ok im going to rewire the subs to a .5 ohm load off the exile any guesstimates to how much rms per sub i would be getting? i use it daily and loud im wondering if the 3512s will be ok with that much juice to them as a daily. thx in advance for your input !

TD_Pėnut 10-07-2008 06:36 PM

well even if you assume you haven't gained anything , the theory would be that they 1200 each, likely you will see more like 1500...maybe a lil bit more. I never did get my amp tested for actual output. Best of luck! Did you buy your exile from george's electronics? I know a couple of my old exiles were floating around kamloops for a while. just curious.

glennersss 10-07-2008 07:32 PM

hey thanks im going ta hook em up rite now , im buying another 2400 on the 19th ta strap them . i bought the first one off of a guy named jordan ewert, here in kamloops ,got it for a nice price 350$ but im buying one brand new to match . one more quick question will i notice a differnce strappn them and will the dd s be ok with the power?

TD_Pėnut 10-08-2008 11:26 AM

nice price, I actually sold most of my exiles, only have 1 left. Thinking of going with a soundstream xxx something 6500+. If you strap them..you will definitely notice a difference, your doubling the power, and doubling the draw off your alternator and battery. Have you upgraded your battery at all? I run a pair of optima blue top deep cycles, they held up great to my exiles. Your dd's should hold up, if they are truly capable of there 4800peak power, which i'd put faith id DD for.

4800w for a burp, I wouldnt give those subs that much power for playing music.
