Exactly. Yuli and Curtis were willing to share info, so make sure you do the same.

Its like this guys...I finally have a good grasp on the SPL thing(I think) and I want to build up a setup in my own mind and on my own paper.I have been asking, more than anything,"Will this work you think?"and "Is this a good idea?"

I'm not trying to be a secretive, take everybodies secrets type person...The reason I'm keeping so hush hush is to keep people off my back...

I'm a hands on learner and til now people have been looking at my ideas and telling me they wont work, wiping my drawings and sketches out and doing what they think will work better.Meanwhile I havent learned a cottonpickin' thing....

So now,I'm doing a build..my build..with a tiny bit of guidance here and there when I'm not sure...And that little bit of guidance is soooo greatly appreciated!!Thanks to all that have helped...

Besides,if you guys take a real good look at my posts,You'll pretty well be able to peice together what I have in mind...with a few givin' exceptions of course...Only certain people know the details..

Anyway...I think I've got a box drawn up,just a matter now of when I'll have the cash to get the materials and getting a place to work...I have one guy at work says if I can wait til April,he can help me,but if I can find the cash and a place sooner,I'll go that way...

Any offers??HEHE

Although I will agree that for SPL trail and error can work good. But if you understand how to use a good box program it can tell you many things.

For SQ= programs work.

+ saves on wasting MDF over and over.

I use Bassbox Pro by HT audio, or LSPcad or even Calsod. These are all expensive programs, but I got them all free from a file sharing program called "Limewire" Calsod is a $3000.00 program that I paid $0.00 for! I LOVE FILESHARE!!!! I just input the Subwoofer thiele and smalls into the program, and model as many different configurations as I want, as well as pinpoint the box tuning frequency, and subwoofer Step response right on my computer, so I know exactly what Im doing before I even start to build the box. That way I've been able to get a LOUD awesome sounding sub without worrying about over-excursion in certain frequency gaps. So I've never since fried a sub, since I've been using LSPCad. I even have the program still on my shared folder for my Limewire. So if you do get it, it'll probably be from me. I highly recommend this. I've fooled around with so many boxes and have nothing to show for it but a lot of wasted time, wasted materials, fried subs, and not being much wiser in the end.

I agree....box programs really do work, well if you spend the time to understand them...especially when you take the program...draw up the design and test it to see how close you are to the program specs...you will see that you can predict within 0.5-1db of what you will hit and weather a box will work with your subwoofer or if it will blow apart into nothing
