benefits of multiple runs of power/ground wire

so today i got a hold of 80 feet of 3/0 welding cable for FREEEEEE. so i did four runs of power and four runs of ground in my nissan extended cab.
i know its really good to have lots of runs but im not exacly sure how it works.
so if anyone can tell all the benefits and good things about about lots of runs of wire id appreciate it alot, thank you.

If you have too few runs it restricts the amount that can get to an amp. (a run of 1/0 can only carry SO much power... right?)

Adding more runs means you can get more power from one end of your vehicle to the other.

If you think of it in terms of trying to pass water through a hose... more/larger hoses mean more water can get from one end to the other

This is also why it's important to have as many positive runs as negatives. You need to have proper 'flow' in both directions.

I find it pointless unless you run 3000 rms= daily or compete. Single run of 0 guage to 4/0 gauge will suffice. But jordy is right on his analogy.

yes and no....
lets say u run 2000rms daily, and u have stock alt like myself @ 85amp. You will like the runs and the big3 because helps abit with draw. My headlights dont dim as bad no more.

I have 4 runs 1/0 for my daily system

^^^ Exactly. But i do agree with SX if you have a smaller alternator yes, and as for the big three i think anything over a few hundred rms should be done.
