brute power or line drive?

UPDATE:
I was able to meet up with Yuli today and did some testing...totally forgot to test with and without the line driver... reason being I HIT MY FIRST 145db!!!! it took a bit of tweaking to get there. We started of with a 4ohm load on my brand new Kaption spl1500 and did a decent 141 (the sub barely moved at all). we figured we would give my trusted SONY amp a run for its money and run a few tones at 1ohm. BOOM jumped a solid 3-4db on the meter. i do have to mention the all gains on my amp were at a closed position; line driver did all the work. not too bad considering this is a COMPLETELY new set-up. Different car, new power wire, rca, box and sub, no deadening yet (too cold), the only thing that stayed the same is my sony amp. this year should be quite fun with a bit more work and time!!

So unless you plan on having over 2k for the sub, I'd build to street stock rules for sure!! You should do well for a newer competitor
If you need help inturpreting the street stock rules, I bet Yuli has a good understanding of them. If not, someone here does.
