Canadian Auto Sound League 2005 Rules
Rookie 1
Maximum total inline fuse rating of 80 amps is allowed between the battery and the amplifier(s)
Primary fuse(s) must be located under the hood and be easily accessible and visible
Fuse rating will be judged based ONLY on the primary fuse(s) located under the hood
Maximum of one battery can be used
No more than 2 Farads of capacitance can be used
Amplification will be limited to a maximum of two channels per loudspeaker.
A limit on amplifier quantity is not enforced therefore either a single 2 channel amp or 2 monoblock amps may be used PER LOUD SPEAKER
*Note* It will be at the discretion of the judging staff as to whether an
amp is a true monoblock or an internally bridged two channel
amplifier.
IF AMPLIFIER(S) POWER OUTPUT CAN BE DETERMINED NO MORE THAN TOTAL OF 1200 WATTS RMS AT THE RATED LOWEST OHM LOAD ARE ALLOWED
Competitors will be further divided based on the cone area of all woofers in their system with a diameter of 8" or larger. The three divisions are as follows:
0-144 sq" (1 12, 1 10, 1-2 8s)
144-300 sq" (1 18, 1 15, 2 12s, 2-3 10s, 3-4 8's)
301+ sq"
*Note* woofer diameters are manufacturers listed size not the actual external diameter of the loudspeaker
Rookie 2
Maximum total inline fuse rating of 150 amps is allowed between the battery and amplifier(s)
A limit on amplifier quantity is not enforced therefore either a single 4 channel amp, two 2 channel amps or 4 monoblock amps may be used PER LOUD SPEAKER
*Note* It will be at the discretion of the judging staff as to whether an
amp is a true monoblock or an internally bridged two channel
amplifier.
IF AMPLIFIER(S) POWER OUTPUT CAN BE DETERMINED NO MORE THAN TOTAL OF 2400 WATTS RMS AT THE RATED LOWEST OHM LOAD ARE ALLOWED
301+ sq"
*Note* woofer diameters are manufacturers listed size not the actual external diameter of
the loudspeaker
Other Regulations
box height may not exceed 21 inches from the vehicle floor to the top of the box
box has to be located in the cargo area of the vehicle
amplifiers and capacitors may be mounted to the back of rear seats
amplifiers under seats are permitted
3rd row seats may be removed from the vehicle to allow for more room for box and other equipment
2nd row seats may be folded down BUT NOT removed from the vehicle
subwoofer enclosures may not be placed atop of rear seats, however, rear seats DO NOT need to be fully functional
front seats may not be removed from the vehicle
front seats may be moved, folded and other wise adjusted at competitors discretion
battery running voltage may not exceed 15 volts
aftermarket alternators and batteries are allowed
battery must be installed in the stock location
head unit must be installed in the dash
SPL Measurement
competitor goes through a 30 second run where that competitor's average spl is measured
microphone can be placed anywhere front of the B-pillar and above side window line
windows may be open at competitors discretion
doors may not be open
trunk/hatch and hood of the vehicle may not be open
competitors are permitted to use any recording materials at their disposal
competitors must use the vehicle's primary in dash head unit as the source of audio signal
Q and A
Q: How can I tell if my amplifier is a true monoblock or an internally bridged two channel amplifier?
A: The best way to tell if an amplifier is a true monoblock is to consult the owners manual. A true monoblock amplifier can be strapped with another identical amplifier to double its output. If the manual mentions a procedure to connect two of your amplifiers together in order to double the power output then it is considered a true monoblock amplifier.
Intermediate Class
Maximum of two batteries can be used
No more than total of 5 farads of capacitance can be used
Amplification will be limited to a maximum of ONE channels per loudspeaker
Strappable and/or stacked amplifiers will be counted as TWO channels
Two bridged channels of an A/B class amp will be counted as one mono channel
Competitors will be further divided based on the cone area of all woofers in their system with a diameter of 8" or larger. The TWO divisions are as follows:
0-300 sq"
301 600 sq"
*Note* woofer diameters are manufacturers listed size not the actual external diameter of the loudspeaker

Man these rules have to be looked over i just scanned over them and there are many mistakes regarding a pillar and b pillar. and there better be some general rules. You are going to need more guidelines for the open unlimited.
yes u are right, there are erros in Open Ultimate class with respect to pillars, Jordy can u please adjust. its supposed to say B-pillar
ok guys lets think of some general guide lines?

anything as long as u have a windshield where the mic can be attached.
i know what u are trying to get at but we dont forsee a whole tons of competitors in this class at all. thus there really is no point of writing out 5 pages of rules just for that class.
whatever is not said in the rules as restricted can be considered as allowable
