Cabin Pressure Q.

HI guys. Im guessing that the SPL is WAY higher, when all the windows are up, thus creating a moderately sealed environment. Then when the windows are down So I was wondering, roughly how much of a difference in SPL is there,
Thanks guys

well if your vehicle is louder with the windows down that means you are not truly using all of the car's space. hard to explain, i'm sure someone else could do a better job but it has to do with proper tuning, of the cars res freq, and the box freq, and Maximimizing the true SPL of the vehilce.. i have finally found that point on my crx.. took me about 7 months of testing, but finally SPL louder with windows and all doors closed
as for the smart, well.. only 1 true day of testing so far... but i hope to achieve max spl..

If your maximum SPL is higher with the doors/windows open.... its because your woofers are tuned alot lower then your vehicles resonant freq.... usually the case with non SPL systems...
edit: that goes 2x if the Q is high with the vehicle sealed... !

to answer the original question ...
if you have a sealed box Ive seen guys jump3-6 some times more dB if you have a ported box Ive een as much a s 3dB... if tunned properly for SPL you should see very minimal gain..under 1 dB or possibly even a loss
