what battery system 12,14 or 16? how many batteries toal?
just curious...I got 42xx out of 4000d loaded down to 0.7 ohms on 16volt system but I have a really bad voltage drop and current draw was 470amperes average over a few burps...using 10 8-volt batts with 2 4000d's

2 amps, 8 8 volts, 1 ohm load on each, no alt.
You need lots of power for these.
Edit: For reference, 2 VR2000D's were only .2 down from 2 V4000XD's

no kidding...my 10 batts and a homemade battcap dopped from 17.00 down to 13.75 I dont think I was fully charged or my batteries are in need of recycling...no alternator either
did you strap the 2000's?
right now I only have 2 - 0.7 ohm loads but may recone to dual 0.7 and try something else on them dunno yet
oh..on a 12 volt system in a friends car could only get 22xx out of the amp loaded down at 0.45ohms..bad bad impedance rise

Where there any complications on making the V4000XD working on 12 volt?

X </font>[/QUOTE]nope... protection has been removed out of these and we were able to burp it...
hmmm the 2000 non strappable? I thought it was just like the 1000d??
oh well never investigated those amps that much
Rip Rock... nice... how is the voltage drop with 4 on 40 batts ???
On our V4000's we were got appx. 5200 from the one that we tested. We had each amp at 0.7 ohm and the voltage was a 16v setup with a resting voltage of 17.8 just before a burp. We had all 8 amps on 26 8 volt GNB batteries when we got the above figure and the voltage drop was down to about 13.5-14v.
Peter ask Cecco if you can try a "Perfect Cap" (Batcap but home built) that he has. When we had the 26 batts and 4 "Perfect Caps" on the 8 V4000's in his van we saw a voltage drop of about 0.6v or so.
