Has anyone seen the new Cerwin vega subs? particularly the stroker/stroker pro? Has anyone heard one? tested one? Im thinking that these are poor attempts to get cerwin vega back the fame of the original stroker series , ie, new stroker with 29mm excursion each way just over 2"peak-peak???? doesnt the new re audio have 4" peak-peak? and when is that bad-boy being released? I saw that video
Now i know excursion is not all there is to a sub, but it is still a good indication of what it can do...

I dont know if there are any of the new strokers out yet in Canada. I also wouldnt count on the new subs being as loud as the old strokers. As for the RE sub it now does 5" peak to peak. as for relese date its still up in the air.

Considering you have not heard nor tested it and neither have most people how do you even begin to criticize it?

It's now up to 5" peak to peak?! .. damn, that's crazy.

I figured that if they were going to make any changes it would be to lower the p-p rating as a lot of companies do when they bring their proto's to production.

Nice move RE... can't wait to see one in action!

I have not heard or tested it, true, but the specs on it say 29mm one way....now when you have Subwoofer-A with 2.2" peak to peak and sub B with 5" peak to peak , what will most likely be louder? This is all I am basing my criticism on, I am not saying it is a poor quality subwoofer or anything like that, just saying on paper it looks like it is behind the mark. I put this post to see if anyone has indeed tested it and can prove or disprove its spl capabilities.

Actually there were a ton of subs with higher excursion than the original stroker back when it was still winning
Yeah I figured that, the way the industry progresses if you ever on top it is not for long. Thats why i wanted to see if anyone has tested the new one. Its just that almost a 3" difference in excursion seems like a large handicap.

No prices have been set and there are no set in stone power ratings for it either.

special_K: if you ever see a properly designed SPL box, the subs barely move.
