Why is a Focus a bad car?
those two characteristics could make it difficult for anyone to hit high #s..

Why is a Focus a bad car? Is it due to some characteristic or is it because nobody else has been able to make one 'really loud' yet?
What is a 'better' car and why? Something better than "cuz so'n'so won with it"
I'm not in any way affiliated with the car Tim's shop is building - I'm just curious.

You can have 2 cars that are the exact same model, options, colour, everything and it will not react exactly to changes for SPL.
People have done direct swaps between 2 vehicles and have seen up to 2db in difference.
It all has to do with the fact that no 2 cars are the same. Tolerance levels for materials have a large part to do with it.
As i have said I have a Focus and the trunk space is too small you cannot even get half of a CRX box in there with the ports firing back. You can get it in sideways but there is a MAJOR drop off in SPL what used that way. Now you might be able to get a Panda box in there but I dont think that it will work properly because of the freq. that will be used.
Now dont get me wrong the Focus CAN get loud however it will not be loud enough to hang at world finals.
Oh and the biggest problem is that you cannot get a decent sized battery under the hood. And that pretty much by itself takes it out of contention with the louder vehicles out there.

^ Iam not sure I see either of those things as being real problems without solutions......
Iam sure Tim can find a spot for a bank of yellow tops... and I guess we'll see if he knows enough about SPL to pick the right drivers and not just the most expensive sub from a big name SPL company... lol

hm - so far the answers have been unsatisfying. I get how one car can differ from an 'identical' one and how some cars 'want' different size boxes for the same drivers.
What I saw on the last page was as soon as "Focus Hatchback" was mentioned, immediately the responses were : Good Luck with that, and I don't think so, and whatnot.
So far I am left with the reasoning that: Since nobody has 'won' with that car it must not be a "loud" car.
Seems kind of weak no?

Seemed pretty straight forward to me.
But now I am seeing posts that the Focus can get loud.
So maybe I should revise my question? Is there a car that cannot get loud?
