Finally had a meter in my Blazer

I was at Electronics Plus (in Lindsay) today and they had a db meter set up, so I thought what the heck. I had them hook up the mic to my windshield, borrowed a CD and gave it a try.

Ended up hitting 142.something.

Not really sure if that is good or not. I've never tried the DB thing. I built my other car for SQ and all I ever knew was that it would hit the 130 max that was required and then you shut it down.

I never built the Blazer to compete, but it is pretty loud. I was always curious as to what number it would hit and now I know !!

Now I'm curious if re-positioning my subs would have helped it out some.

Later,
Brad

How do you have them placed and is it a sealed or ported box?

I have 2 - 12" 9500's facing the rear in a ported box.

I usually have them firing up at the roof, just so I have more room in the rear cargo area. I'd swear they are louder facing up, but who can really tell at that point?

It might just sound better firing up and I think it is louder, who knows.
