general SPL marks?
ok, so what im trying to ask here is at like what DB (usually) does your rearview mirror rattle, or like ur wippers jump about.
i realize frequency also comes in to play abit or maybe alot, but i kinda just want to know roughly what dB i may be hitting and i dont got a meter and im not sure i care to have an actual number cause i don't have an SPL setup. id like to know what 150dB sounds/feels like. im waiting ever so patiently for importfest.
my car is a wagon and my rearview is entertaining on the really loud notes and my wing mirrors buzz a bit.

I like the descriptions that my wife uses to describe spl levels. At 144 she says that her hair starts to lift up off of her head, at 146 she says that her nose "tickles" and runs profusely, and at 148 and up she says that her chest starts to hurt and breathing starts to become a problem. She also happens to love all of the above.
For me anything from about 145 and up only sounds loud for a very short period of time and then my ears go wacky on me, and regardless of how loud is actually is it doesn't sound loud anymore. When I am tuning for spl I have to tune a little at a time and then get away from it for a while and wait for my hearing to return to normal again so that I can actually hear what I am doing to the system.

anything above 149 starts to hurt the body with chest pains and shock to the heart. But every vehicle is different say you have a walled car that does over 150 then you have a car but is a hatch , next you have a trunk car saying with the same frequency for all 3 they all hurt in a different way , but hey it hurts so good =þ

hmmm, wow, i dint think north of 148/149 got nearly 'dangerous', I think i will defiantly have to make it out to the thornhill meet, seeing as thats where i live. I like The Wizards description, however i highly doubt i hit anywhere near 144 even though my sister says her hairs starts feeling funny.
On another train of thought what exactly makes for a good SPL sub? i figured if you had just big excursion and large cone area that woudl get it done. and i suppose the huge rms ratings means the voice coil wires are thicker?
