Hertz

Ive searched the forums, but couldnt find anything on this product. Im looking to get rid of my L5's, so ive been asking around the local car audio shops, i came across hertz, the guy was telling between the HX300 and the ES 300 the ES goes louder but the HX sounds better..dont know if this is true or not, i was thinking of getting 3 12' ES300's, was just wondering if anyone knew anything about them..if there good for an SPL application, and would they go louder then my 2 12' L5's. thanks.

If you want to get loud, try a proven performer on for size. I would take a serious look at Digital Designs.

IMO DD is not the end all be all of the SPL world and as everyone gets them it will soon be boring. Yes they are good no doubt and kick butt. But im all about finding the perfect setup or different equipment then everyone else runs to de-throne the top competitors.

Other options

FI
SI (Mag's)
RE
Chronic SPL
American Bass VFL

Lots of options

You had me right up until I saw the Chronic SPL listed....

what the heck have they ever done in spl? As of right now, they're pretty much a 'no name' sub company.

They will don't worry. Just pointing out other options and since I can get them thought I would add them as there driver handles 16,000W bursts. Just because there not famous doesn't mean they can't run with the big boys.

From the looks of them on the site the Chronic's SPL series seem to be an SJA design/built sub (Atomic APX or AB VFL). Motor structure seems to be the same as the old school APX's I have kicking around.

So they have potential for sure.

Oh...and FI is not the same as RE...it is the same designer/owner that started RE but he's attempting to improve on the design.

Never had a chance to see or play with the Hertz stuff myself so I can't comment on it...
