Saturday was a very big very productive day thanks to a couple of awesome friends...Two in particular...Ateam who spent the night friday and Darkside Koncepts(my roomie) who as soon as we could went at it like a troopers while I tried to tend to a bad tooth...
Thanks Clay and Travis for all your work yesterday...
Now that being said,we now a have a fully operational SPL setup!!
We started off by finishing the trim woork around the box and worked on making a "baffle"...4 layers..
And...
Building a box for inside...

Thats right!!!I'm going bandpass!!!

We re-enforced the loading wall with a hunk of angle iron and smoothed off the edge of the baffle using a hunk of PVC 2" tubing....both found on the propety I live on...lol....

For power, right now I'm running 2 runs of power and 2 runs ground, simply due to my limited budget, but as time goes on I do plan to upgrade that...

A little later in the day some friends stopped by to offer some help...

Including these 2 trouble makers...lol...Look familiar to anyone???

So after hours of building,it finally came....the moment to test...
We first started with the box facing backward,up against the front wall...peak was @52 htz...147.2...
Please keep in mind, this is meant to be simple low power testing to find where everything need to be...I still need to buy amps, add in my line driver and seal, bondo, round off,etc the enclosure,so there is potential for a lot more....
I then got in an flipped the box around...real fun to do with a simple trouble light to work by...lol
Facing forward with the box against the back wall,58 htz..146.?...
At this point it started to down pour so we called it a night at that...
But she's up and running...ready to work with...and work at getting loud!!
I need to send out a big shout out to the following people
Team RipRock
Team RipRock 2-AKA A-Rok
Team LoudCanada-Alberta
Seege
OutlawSPL
and of course..
Darkside Koncepts
ATeam Audio(Clay Schaffer)
Thanks to all of you who came out yesterday and offered a hand and some advise...and to drink alot of beer...lol...
Hopefully more pics and numbers coming soon!!

hehe... sorry too lazy to read long posts
congrats on finally getting your working..Im in the process of just cleaning out my car for last years garbage... and will soon be building my SM 1-2 in a 1983 VW Rabbit 2 door ... except my frequency is alot higher 67Hz I will be using for the start 1- 18" RE-Audiobahn (Audiobahn Immortal motor on a 18" RE Basket with an RE MT Recone - DVC 0.7 with quad stiff spider)... I'll see how that works run off of a single Mmats d3000.1

We got some more testing and tuning in tonight....and man were we productive!!
Thanks again to Clay from ATeam Audio for coming out and helping...he's been huge in getting this thing going..
We first laid out a base line to start with..146.6 with no mods done other than firing the subs back again.
We gradually worked with the sealed box placement and found what we figured to be the sweet spot.We came up to a 147.9 or so in doing that.
We tried paneling off the void behind the sealed enclosure and dropped by 3 dbs..out that came...
Next we added a 45* angle to the corner in the back of the port...148.9!!A 1 db jump!!
From there we went to trying to tuning the port portion. We narrowed the port a considerable amount and gave er a go....149.6!!
About a 3 db jump over a couple hours of work...A good night I would say..
Also bare in mind we tested with a slightly lower power amp this time, the HardCore RipRock 500d,which at a certain volume began to draw huge power and eventually went into protection. The last time we tested,we used a PowerAcoutiks 3000d,which likes the .25 load better than the RipRock, but the PA seems to have given up the ghost,so for now,we will test with whats available..
We plan to play some more next weekend before the show at AutoTemp Air and Sound...As well,I may have some power to throw in....but for now, thats my little secret...MUHAHAHAHAHA!!

And Lee..right noe is a shared chamber while we get the box adjusted out...then we will work with the seald chamber...
As far as power goes,I've had to temp. put the amp on hold...
.....I was made an offer on a vehicle I would be stupid to pass up,so the money I had planned for the amp will be going towards a car that will make it easier to make the far off shows as a points chaser....My goal is to points chase this year and prove to myself I can do the full 100 points...then next year work towards finals....But for right now,I've got myself in a little too far so I need to back off an take an assesment of what I need and what I would like...
It might even mean putting the van on hold for this year....
....but there's always the new car to work with....
