Hifonics Titan TXI 1508D impedence problem
Hi all, I have a bit of a problem here and hopefully someone can provide some insight. I'm not sure if this is in the right forum, but since I'm kind of aiming for SPL I thought that here would be best suited.
As the topic says, I'm suing a HIfonics Titan TXI 1508D amp which is 1ohm stable. I have a custom 15" sub that is 2ohm DVC wired in parallel and measures out at about 0.7ohms on the multimeter. When I measure the impedance back at the amp it reads 0.8ohms with the amp off. As soon as I turn the amp on, the multimeter reads about 33ohms with no music playing. when a song does come on, it'll jump up to about 1200-2200 ohms.
Any ideas?

Anything under 1 ohm on those hifonics on a stock electrical is asking for problems. I'm not saying it was that, but i have a feeling the amp is toast.
I would suggest trying something with a ohm load of 4 or something stable, and see if that woofer works

I'll give that a shot.
The sub works and sounds really good - its just not very loud
but with the amp running the way it is... i'm kinda nervous about running anymore - i'm a little paranoid about it potentially clipping.
