house full of SPL

my home stereo is 5.3 right now and I dont have enought bass.
I have one 12" 150rms watt, two 100rms watt 8" subwoofers
it sounds nice SQ wise but I and looking for the over powering bass for when i play music over the system.
i have my own house and the houses next to me are over 200ft away so i am not worried about the cops coming to tell me to turn it down.

i dont want to go with DJ subwoofers just as the space they take up.
i am thinking about a high power car audio subwoofer(s) and this amp
Parts-Express.comayton HPSA1000 1000W Subwoofer Amplifier | subwoofer amplifier subwoofer amp sub amplifier sub amp plate amp titaSub-41108 DASUBAMP110508 DayAudSubAmp050109

anyone have any idea on box tuning and any tips for the box with in being int he house.? i am gonna do a slot port. i want it to be very loud for music and i would turn that amp off and use the other subs for movies

There probably isn't a need to go with "high power" car audio subs..

If you get 3 of them as you do in your current setup you're only sending about 333w to each one.

the three that i have now are already powered by mono plate amps that are built in to the cabs.

and i will need to get to get to 4ohm to get the max 1024rms for my bucks. so i am either one dvc 2 or two dvc 4

I have an old Cerwin Vega car sub in my DJ setup, along with two 15'' full range CV's and two old JL speaker cabs from an old club that are like 20 years old, all running off an old Ampzilla. The needle on it reaches 3.5 watts when I have it going "full tilt" and that car sounds pretty decent, and feels cool since its right at my feet.

If you can get into T.O. there is a place called Audio Visual on O'Connor Dr. just north of St. Clair Ave. East.......they carry some very nice stuff for HT and DJ use.....

Ask them to demo the 18" Electro-Voice subwoofer in the 4cuft box tuned to 28hz.....they feed it 1,000Wrms and it may give you a couple of ideas.....

or you could buy something like an Mach5 IXL 18 or Creative SDX15 to run off that Dayton amp.
lots of DIY box ideas on the net for either sub
