Yay IASCA!! ...

but if you look at the rules. There is actually more of an equipment investment required to be competitive in IASCA. There just aren't as many hardcore competitors in there now.

(in stock 1 you can have an upgraded alt, 2 batteries, 2 subs, and 2 amps)

ewww rockford just kidding
thats is going to happen no matter what you cant control what other will think. and with the rockford stuff go back a couple years and that is where the best stuff is not the new stuff no good.
for an event to be good i think you need someone in the area to really work hard at just talking to people about the comps a while before it starts and making sure that people know it is going to happen. not many people these days read or read well so i think that maybe if there was a radio commercial or something like that would really help out. People just have to feel comfortable goin to an event like this where they may not know anyone. If it all possible we should try to keep the entry fee to a minimum someone isnt going to spend big bucks to be beaten up. and some people are just cheap to but thats cool. just my 2 cents

i have an idea. how about everyone stops saying what 'someone needs to do' and actually do something. go into the spl section and comment on the canadian spl league rules, makes suggetions there that way u will actually contributre to something that might actually happen to help getting new guys into competing?

What I would like to see is CONSISTENCY from any SPL League meaning once a competitor choses a class they should remain in the same class for the year. These many time were I went to show to find out they these competitors competing in classes that they normally wouldn't compete in. The best example is AudioThunder 2002 and AudioThunder 2003. I'm not knocking the show itself because I love it. People may interprete this comment as me complaining but if you looking to expand you may want to look into this because I'm 99% positive that competitor don't come back because the shows not being consistent.

I am positive that if someone organize an Ontario League or any type of dB Drag show(s) I would do my best to support it.

But when it comes to promoting I'm not sure what would help this awesome sport. I've noticed a lot of Import Tuners and SPL show mix together. I love getting a T-Shirt(audio manufacture) when registering at shows and a trophy at the end of show...

I checked out audiothunder in 2003. It was pretty cool but I never got to look/listen at alot of guys install/gear.... only a handfull of demo vehicles.... would have been better with more systems blasting tunes while I was there...

Watching the event was sort of a yawn.... instead of dead air and nothing going on for %80 of the time maybe the announcer could do a mini-bio on the person/car/install... maybe have a projector setup with footage from other shows... I dont know, anything to make it more entertaining... (might intise more people to become involved)

What else is involved in competeing ? do you just show up at whatever shows, compete, and hang with whoever you know... or is it more like a club where someone is planning cool **** for people to participate in other then at the show.... (meet & tweek nights, BBQs, ect ) ???
