You still gotta remember guys, it's a competition. You want to win. So we're not just gonna make classes for some guy who has a $200 system to win a trophy when he's no even remotely loud, we still have to be reasonable about that. It's not like they have a hockey league where u can't skate but can still score 50 goals. But I mean there still is going to be a considerable investment involved, regardless of what the classes are.
And about that's changing classes thing...well who cares man? Honeslty. If you upset because someone entered your class and beat you...well then...get louder, you can't make it so someone has to be in one class for the whole year. Myself alone competed in 3 different classes last year, I know Yuli did 3-4...etc.

I think the cspl idea is good, and as long as people are reasonably competitive, they should come back. I like the lower classes idea. Another thing, might be perhaps to have more prizes, like raffles and stuff that comes from the reg price. That way maybe someone who doesn't place, might still walk away with something so that they do not feel empty handed, as lumina boy stated above.

i think canada needs its own SPL league.(CSPL) i like that it has a "noob" class that u can only be in for 1 year. but i hear alot of guys talking about it being more of a "ontario spl" league. there are a ton of guys out on the west coast that would love to get into a league like this. i think to get some new people into this i think it needs to be a little less intimidating. u come there not knowing how your cars gonna do and then u get ur *** handed to you and uv spent as much on ur car system as u can, u dont really feel like goin back.

Your looking at Competition negativly.. look at it as improving your numbers over the season, sure you may not get the trophies, but you get to meet alot of people that share the same interest, and in most cases will help you achieve more out of your system.

how to improve:

$$$ - this is always an issue, competitors and spectators don't want to pay a lot, but the shops can't afford the shows every weekend...we could try hassling the sponsors for more free s**t.

FUN - usually, EVERYONE ends up getting bored at a show at some point or another. there should be other "inter activities" planned to keep peoples interest.

FOOD & BEvERage - well...maybe not alcohol *cough* but having some cheap food on hand will always get people to come. (side note: i'm gonna try and get a slushie machine to come to some of the events this year....i'm workin' on it).

Chris I'm sure this has already been said but IMO more people tend not to compete because of, $$ and everyone likes to win so it seems, well who wouldn't want to win? And when they see these 'lifers'(Can't think of the word I want right now other than usuals) are at every show competing it tends to discourage those not so serious about the sport. And it seems to have become more of a competitive thing and not much fun in it possibly. There are people out there who spend the extra cash and want to beat scores like yours, yuli's and others, but those who don't quite have the funds or skills to do it are discouraged.

It's not that anything can really be changed to help the problem/situation. Because it is a competition and majority of these competition's are sanctioned(correct me if im wrong)events where the winners receive points towards their end of the season score for an invite to nationals and to be the best (If I'm not mistaken). And anyone of you who are out there to be the loudest and specifically get the points your not gonna throw in a towel so one of the lowerclass or what not competitors can have a chance (which is understandable, I'm not saying you should do that)

You can consider this a sport as stats are recorded and there's the end of the season events and the major events etc.

So really I'm not quite sure there is a way to technically fix this issue, maybe create a league or a class for those who can't seem to get near any of you pro audio guy's scores. As iCE mentioned there's a noob class but that only lasts a year, sometimes it takes years for some competitors to get even near your scores.

Either way, its a serious competitor sport, those can compete for fun still of course its welcome, but just tend not to get discouraged if you don't snag 1st place when the heavy hitters step up...

End of Rant.

what if you made a class that was free to enter and there were no points involved. you could bring in your car and not have to worry about the "big hitters" being in your class. they'll all be chasing the points in other classes. you would get new people into the sport and when they "get on their feet" a little bit more and decide to get serious then they would start going up to the "bigger" classes.

Don`t know if you know this or not but that is the purpose of mini street in dbdrag,a class without "big hitters".
