IDBL Advanced Rules
Replied... and in case you don't want to read it over there...
Moe said he's working on it... but the changes he wants to make are pretty drastic and he wasn't able to implement them for this season.

there are more changes than just the foot well. the console cannot be above the lowest part on the steering weel while in ultimate it cannot be higher than the top part of the dash.
the floor boards cannot be higher than the door opening in ulitmate it can be and same goes for the roof.
the doo opening cannot be changed in adv while in ultimate it can be.
the woofers and sub box can not be in front of the b pillar in adv while in ultimate it can be withing 25 inches of the mic.
although a vehicle can be modified to look very ultimitish so to speak. there is limits to the extend of the thickness of these buildouts. while in ultimite there are less restrictions.
there is no doubt in my mind that these modification can be made. although the highest scores in advance are held by bob perillo...his vehicle is the loudest advance vehicle and the loudest ss vehicle
bob perillo - 167.6 in db drags loudest ss car
bob perillo - 170.8 in iasca loudest adv car
he holds both records in both sanction and has not made a wooden dash console or any roof modifications or floor modifications.
these modifications are allowed but not 100% needed to break the records. chris mcvay adv nw record holder went down .6 db when he modified the windshield according to the rules. they are allowed but not always used to generate the loudest numbers.

hahaha yeah Chris... seal a door and windshield it leaks out of the floor! lol
I do agree that only doing one mod may lose SPL... but realize the competitor that lost SPL also has 40,000 WATTS +++ of power yet is only hitting 161's in a reg cab pickup truck with 36 batteries and siliconed windows but what about all other air leaks? this competitor has the power and power supply to be capable of hitting 163-164 in his class without modifications... just a real SPL enclosure
now look at the WORLD RECORD holders in the classes of ADVANCED 1,2 and 3, they all have a modified interior to the extremes of the class and are aprox 3-4 dB louder than all other competitors... I have not seen the vehicle personally bet the look like ultimate vehicles minus the footwell mods.
I believe an advanced vehicle should still have the ABILITY to be driven out on a street and meet MOST safety reguiremnts

well of course it louder than stock. but what im saying is that it is not necesarily louder than if you do other things besides window treatments and layers of wood.
like i said bob perillo has factory glass and has no wood in his car. no matter how loud the other cars are . he is still louder than all of them. rick larson out of portland hit a 159.1 in advance NW (0.7 from the leader) and he has a stock system. while chris mcvay hit a 161 at fianls with the window and concrete treatment.chris will tell you that although he is allowed to do that modifications. he wouldnt if he had the chance to go back.
there is no doubt that those treatments will make some spl. but i have had them done(except for the glass) and the car remained street legal and 100% drivable. seats were in it and seatbelts. adv is a modified class. want unmodified...prostock. 170 will become easier and easier in adv if those rules are followed.
but that is why there are so many choices when it comes to sanctions. cause there are more than one way to skin a cat.
it would make it easier to transfer from one sanction to another if those rules were different, but not all want to. or do.
but im sure that Moe will take all into consideration for 2007. cause 2006 is already carved in stone.

Also, no one has been close to him the past 2 seasons, so did you think maybe the reason he isn't louder than "only 161" is because he has no reason to be?

</font>
Jordy do really think that those memphis 4000's only put out 4000 watts at 17+ volts? Ill tell you this they are capable of almost 8000 each with the proper load and the proper amount of batts. So yes he does have 40 000+ watts. And considering the results of the dB Drag finals yes 161 is a very weak score for No Wall. Guess now that there is no more nowall McVay is going to have to get a bit louder.
