jbl w15gti vs re audio mx12

hey guys i got 2 jbl w15gti subs and i have them running in a 3.5cft sealed box...powered by a jbl gto14001 amp....i've been looking at selling my gtis to get 2 re audio mx subs....does anyone have any feed back on the mx subs?...what numbers on a TL could the mx put up??? would if be worth switching subs?...i like loud bass for sure but i also like good sound...my goal would be to hit anywhere from 145-150 in a trunk....right now i hit 139.1 on music sealed up in the car....any input would be great

why dont you try putting the GTI's in a ported box first.
Different subs on the same power is not going to make you a whole lot louder.
The GTI's are awsome subs

Yeaaaah Grimez!!!

I'm saying try a ported box aswell first. Make the port nice and big. Then after that if you're not satisfied, go with a new set of subs. I've never heard the RE's, so I can't comment on them. Fi's been good to me though.

i will be going with a second gto14001 amp very soon, i've made a ported box for these last year that had to be built inside the trunk because of the size....sounded louder yes but had to change it because if i have any problems with my rear suspension i would have to destory the box....if you guys can give me a box design i'd try it out...there's not much space seeing as im driving a cavalier.....and consider i need place for 3 amps and a battery...

There you go, ported and more power before you go knocking those GTI's, my mom has them in her car

there is no upgrade from a JBL W15gti sub....one of the best sounding subs ever built
for car audio period...

stick those in a well designed ported enclosure and you will be slammin !!

dump the w15... ill buy them to install with my other 2

i hit 136 with one (sealed 2cuft) so roughly 3db more for 2 make sense, it's an SQ(L) sub not SPL so if your goal is to hit high dbeez to compete i suggest you still change b4 you blow them (that would be a crime).

X2...those are my favourite subs hands down! unless you just want spl or want to compete in spl...you won't get a better sql sub...and they get ridiculously loud with music!

You're not going to fit 7 cubes in a Cavy. Would you consider a rear-seat box?
