6 db's is 4 times as loud......
i dont understand why people waste their time with bandpass boxes? someone please tell me. they are not the best for music and definately far from good for spl, especially in a car where most of the interior is stock. fox man, you should be doing 150 with all that cone and power you have, your only down fall is the stupid bandpass box. guys you gotta think. if these things were any good for spl dont you think everyone and their mom would be rocking these types of boxes?? they work well in a car where you can turn your car into a box itself (as in a band pass wall) but other than that it's a waste of time. fox man, build a proper ported box with everything firing forward and you will gain like 3 db's, i almost guarantee you. and Tim....., i have no advice for you. could actually use some of your advice. |

ok here's life made simple
if I remember... 32 or 34" wide... ( its been a few years) 24" deep and 14" or 15.5 high" you gotta measure... needs to have a folded port... it should tune 44-49Hz just build it! facing forward... box pucshed all the way to the back of the trunk yields best results... dont forget small angles in port and behind subs... to tune this box you play a bit with the size of the angle behind the subs.. the bigger you make it takes more air and tunes box higher... pretty easy ? now get building.. your port should be around 8" or so and the actual length what the subs see is close to 30" |
Think it'll work in a hatch?
|
it should say 8" wide and 30 long
and no dont use that box in a hatch...different car different loading what car hatchback? |
