we have just become kicker dealers here at and i am wondering if anyone here has used one of these in a non burp machine application. i mean how do they sound or are they mainly designed for spl. i am looking at putting 4 of them in a cut-through in a 2004 gmc sierra but am unfamiliar with them. i am looking only for input from people that have used them themselves or heard them with their own ears. not trying to be snide but really just want the facts

They are heavy and have relativly low Xmax.... Swept volume is still huge.. and 4would be retarded loud....
All in all, I think there are much better subs, espeially for SQL... I cant imagine kicker payed much attention to things like ruler flat BL and low inductance...
I cant say Ive ever heard one though....

You wouldn't need 4 of them to be loud. And they are very powerful subs so you would need some big amps to run them all. Team Welch has 2 18 and 8 kicker 1200.1 in there van and it did 169 but that is just for spl. for daily driving 4 would make you lose you hearing so fast. but if you do it lets see pics when it is done

The 18" SoloX really makes you re-think 8" (puny) mid-bass. It opens up a new world of SQ.
The 18" with a 10" mid~lowbass, 8"midbass, 6.5" mids and then tweets really rolls into you. The transition is really smooth and also seems like a full-bodied experience (hard to put into words). Had a guy in a Denali roll through town a couple months back with that system and it was really nice. He had Arizona plates and was heading to Alaska. I had the opportunity to take a quick listen and I oohed and ahhed and dropped jaw at the sight&sound of that SoloX.
4 18" SoloX is purely **!W!O!W!** factor. That is ALOT of weight at @100lbs each, the necessary enclosure and the amplifiers to power them; the combined weight would be astounding.
They went with a foam surround instead of rubber butyl for a smoother bass response, the SPAIRS option is nice for possible equipment failure.
Strucural integrity of the vehicle would be questioned if you used 4 Solo18X's and the minimum power necessary let alone matching power requirements.
Although.....I say why the hell not. I'll drive down from PG just to see it. You guys build it and I'll bring a case of Mountain Crest just to let me see it. I'll need my ears for the next 60 years so I'll wait to hear it.

Yes, I have one,and i've heard "the other" in an sq box.
for sq they like 10-20cuft
and they like alot of power.i have tested mine with 2000watts(150 db) but it would really like 4-8kwrms.
i would stick with 2, and alot of power.
Haunz, really should listen to one, they do sq and spl very well.
