Seriously Father, 3 db. I was also able to match at
a significantly higher number than without it. The deck settings were peaked before we started. Extensive testing was done on several different set-ups and each system improved just by switching to the decks with the line drivers. The only amps that didn't improve in our testing was the Memphis. The LD's tended to over-drive the input, thus lowering the attainable gain.

Id almost have to do all my testing over again to see this happen..but I really DO NOT belive 3db from a line driver...unless its a 4 V deck being used and the gain on the amp is set to 8v..u get the idea I have NEVER seen more than 1 full dB from adding a LD...if u match the amp to the decks highest clean output you will get full power output... a LD might help the amp run slightly more efficient by not having to work so hard...but for those 3 second burps it wont matter...besides if you're in street class all youre doing is creating more load than needed on the battery( yes that 1 whole ampere or how ever much it draws)

I run SPL Adv.2 (Fusion R&D) and went from a 7000 series Alp. to the FCD250 Fusion deck. I run 2 Quad 15's and 8 FJL1611 amps. This year they have me testing the new proto 4000D's. Dual Ohio Generator alts, 12 - 16v Turbostart Batteries. 22 years doing research/developement for different companies.
This year I jumped from an average 149db to 158.5 at the finals.
We tested the radios w/LD on various systems (amps) including Fusion, Memphis, Audiopipe, Audiobahn, Kicker, and more. The results were the same in almost every case but Memphis. On the Mojos, we actually lost more than we gained.
What Yuli said about line drivers, I have found in the past to be reasonably accurate. However, that was an in-line driver not associated with the deck itself.
Also, I have found that different drivers gave different results. This I'm sure you all have experienced. I can't say that this is the standard, but I can say that in the past 24 months of testing, I averaged between 2.8 - 3.1 db higher using the deck with the built in 8v line driver.
