The idea of doing a single 8 and making it pretty loud has always seemed cool to me. On music only, which 8's can get pretty loud. For a summer project I might try to try a single 8 on my t10001bd and see how loud I can get it. Nothing like people asking what you got, reply with a single 8 .

how about a RE RE8 in a transmission line box tuned at 23hz that hits 136.7db with only 200 watts in a GMC Envoy yes on term lab

 

I run two 8's with 1's infront of them and couldn't be happier.....

 

I believe its Elemental Designs if I remember correctly, made 8's that I for one was VERY impressed with. I couldn't believe how far they travel

 

The Explorer runs the factory sealed box and JBL amps (60 to the seperates and 85 to the sub ). Upgraided the factory 6 1/2 to a JL 8W0. This is for general daily driving. It's no were near as loud as say the 5k going to my 10's but I didn't want the extra stress of WHAT was that I couldn't hear you or somebody took all my gear. The 8" was a great upgraid an remakably sounds great. Not real loud but 130 is very posible. I'd do it again if asked. And ya It's cool to surprise people saying ya it just an 8" is that a problem. Properly tuned they will sound great and give more than enough bump.

 

In my Civic I ran a RE8 2ohm SVC in a 1.5cuft ABC on about 150watts and it was very surprising. For a BS setup it wanged.

Now I run 4 MTX 5500 8s with 300watts each in my SX2.0. Good for mid 140s in SQ tune
