would changing the wire gauge make a difference? Are you running 8 gauge right now

it's all in the box.. are you looking to fart out a single note for competetion, or a full range for music?

There are little thing you can do to gain some spl. Most important you will need some mic time. Fiddle around, get your frequency as well as volume to burp at. Then play around with where to hold (if anywhere). That's probably the cheapest way to gain in spl.

If your willing to spend a little extra, then it's time to experiment with different box designs.

Good luck!

i agree positioning is very key at least in the setup i used to have i went form a 146.8 to a 152.5. This was all done by angling the box at the hatch differently thqn i had it. Very sursprising to me cause the angle looked like it would sound bad but the mic doesnt lie i guess.

Another thing is keep things consistant.. go by what the mic reads on the day you are testing.. one day you might read a 159 on one mic, the next you might read a 145 on another.. (unless its the new termlab than its a little more consistant) but still keep it consistant
