low space, big bass??

Yea without shallow mounts i dont think it would be possible to do a rear facing slot ported enclosure without hugging the steering wheel.

I think you would be surprised as the length builds up space pretty quick. There is lots of ported truck boxes on the market. So I think it would not be an issue.

Oh yea i dont disagree with you at all. Im just planning on doing a 2 separate 10" slot ported boxes in my reg cab with the amp rack in the middle. The depth of the sub it what would be the issue. I have fully hijacked your thread man, sorry.

an old friend of mine had 4 soundtream reference 10's behind his seat facing forward and they were incredibly loud and hit hard

I actually just finished an install on a Ford F-150 regular cab 2 10's forward facing and ported..the thing hits hard and low...its loud..and using regular subs not shallow mount... the customer is actually a big guy not a short skinny guy... just incase that question was about to get asked... measured SPL using music..it hits loudest at 55hz (133dB measured on my termlab) at the 35hz mark only hits 2 dB lower... this is on a 500 watt RMS amplifier
