New Termlab sensors?

you can't focus bass frequencies like that...sound travels from all directions of the source and the lower the frequency the quicker it will dissperce...it works with a sattallite because they use electromagnetic waves of very high freqency...sound waves aren't the same in my opinion

Actually it could work but keep in mind the size of things MHz to Hz yes sound waves vs RF waves
to do this properly you would need a very small woofer and a very large vehicle
because of the wavelength of 20-80Hz frequencies it is more or less imposible to make an efficient design in such a small area as a vehicle
toyed with the idea about 5 years ago...VW is definately to small to do it

mta, what about 1/4 and 1/2 waves
shocking, why cant bass frequncies be manipulated like that? is it not done all the time? most cars are louder at the winshield because more energy is focused there, regardless of wheather you are using a pressure sensor like the termlab or an acoustic measurement mic like the older audiocontrol, most cars are louder at the base of the windshield. i am not disagreeing just asking for more input from you

Oh I am sure it probably does. More drivers always equals more cancellation.
I don't have the interest to even try anything like that - it was just a design I had. I had a different wall design for 288 8s as well and another for 72 15s. The Hearse would have been fun. RIP

i think that many people above has missed the point! Dave did't say this is what they are doing. he said that this is what jbl is reserching. i also talked a lot to this individual. all of the above for or against arguments are a part of what they are going through to figure out what is nececary to make the above possible and at the same time come up with a calculation to make the (theory) consistent! trust me this is not a man that would blow wind up someones #@%! any who, way to get acostted by bring cool new news to the board Dave. lol.
